Production Facility

Wisconsin BioProducts has a total fermentation vessel capacity of approximately 165,000 liters, ranging from bench-scale vessels, to twin 38,000 liter vessels. We have the ability to ferment up to four organisms simultaneously with a total working volume of approximately 125,000 liters.

Fermentation protocols can be batch, fed-batch, or draw-and-fill. We have ample tank capacity to hold feed for fed-batch runs, as well as harvest intermediates for post-fermentation processing. We also process GMO-related waste by heat pasteurization for safe disposal.

Pilot Plant

Wisconsin BioProducts operates a small pilot facility which is well-equipped to conduct smaller fermentations from 250 to 1,500 liters, and to process biomass with a variety of equipment.
